Back again and better than ever is the Artists Studio Tour. This year offers 13 locations with 35 artists. As a believer in "if it moves you it is art" the varied selection of works will surely have something for everyone. Garrett Trails Building NEW Trails in Fork Run

Thanks to a partnership with Garrett Community Action, Garrett Trails was able to secure funding through the American Recovery Reinvestment Act and secure NEW green jobs for young people. Thanks to training from the International Mountain Biking Association work is underway on a sustainable natural surface single track trail. Located in the Fork Run Recreation Area. Currently almost 3000 feet of trail is developed. I went with Garrett Trails President steve Green and viewed the progress and got an explanation.

Maryland 4H Center A Deep Creek Alternative Oasis

If you are looking for a little more mellow Deep Creek Lake alternative for relaxing, fishing, swimming or a picnic you may want to consider the Md. 4H Center in Bittinger. This free park offers all of the beauty of a mountain lake with a little less crowd.

Outdoors Woman Workshop

  

  Registration is now open for the next Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) weekend workshop to be held Friday, October 22 through Sunday, October 24 at the Western Maryland 4-H Center in Garrett County near Deep Creek Lake.
     BOW enables women to learn about a wide variety of outdoor opportunities in a casual, non-threatening environment.
     Participants may choose from more than 30 classes, including outdoor photography, geocaching, turkey and deer hunting, fly fishing, hiking, kayaking, outdoor survival skills and many others. In addition, BOW places special emphasis on the camaraderie that goes along with outdoor recreation.
     These outdoor skills workshops are offered specifically for women 18 years of age and older; however, men are also welcome.

    After an equipment failure and disappointing start to the 2010 season Resentment Racing has stepped up in class and ready to take the green again. A very special THANKS to my dad who put up with me AND drove the 14 hours to get this car. I am very excited about the increase in power and rear wheel drive and will be running Roaring Knob, Elkins, Cumberland & Bedford this season. We love your support and hope to see you at the track.
